Durable and hard wood with an intense orange colour.

Fall is the wood of the tropical tree Pterocarpus soyauxii. This tree is found in tropical Africa in Angola, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Nigeria and Zaire. It grows in tropical rainforests. The sapwood is whitish to cream, the heartwood is coral red to reddish brown. This wood is very durable in the exterior and its use for knife blades is directly suggested by the beautiful orange colour.
