Firing a big, heavy knife into the wild

The burner is made of K720 steel, the so-called "stable" or O1 steel. This steel guarantees perfect cutting strength and durability with a hardness after hardening of approximately 58 HRC. It can be easily hardened and tempered under domestic conditions. When cut and ground appropriately, it is the perfect shape for making a chopping knife. The burnish is not cloudy, it must be tempered after sharpening. It can be pre-drilled, roughly ground and hardened. Then grind on a belt grinder.
