1.2767 - suitable as a softer and lighter component for damascus with nickel content, in combination with steel 1.2842 which we also offer!!!!

Steel 1.2767 (19655) is designed for cold working has a high nickel content, is highly ductile and tough even for larger cross-sections. It has high notch toughness. It is hardenable in oil, vacuum and air. It is particularly suitable for polishing, etching, and treading. It has very good wear resistance and relatively good dimensional stability in heat treatment. Steel 1.2767 has reduced machinability. Strength 880 MPa. Hardness in the annealed condition max. 260HB Achievable hardness after hardening 56 HRC.

Processing surfaces:

Forging- 850- 1050°C
annealing- 610-650°C- heat for 4h slowly cool in the furnace.
Hardening- 830-870°C
Release - 160-220°C

Maximum achievable hardness after tempering- 56HRC.

Steel is sheared, may be shaved and surface corrosion may occur.
