High quality hunting knife made of excellent M390 powder steel and luxurious rosewood santos. It is completely manufactured in the Czech Republic by Venator knife s.r.o..

The blade for this knife, made from M390 steel, is made entirely using a CNC milling machine, except for the cutout, which is created by hand after hardening on a belt grinder. During this process, of course, the blade is intensively cooled. It is then hardened in a vacuum furnace with cryogenic process after hardening.

Cryogenic hardening of steel is a process that uses very low temperatures, far below freezing. The hardened steel is cooled at very low temperatures immediately after quenching. This process uses liquid nitrogen, which subsequently drops the temperature down to -80°C.

Cryogenic blade processing brings many benefits that improve the final blade properties. They become even harder and have even more extended toughness and durability after this process. By using the cryogenic deep cooling process immediately after hardening the blade, the atomic structure of the material is changed without disturbing or damaging this structure in any way. The cooling process removes residual austentite in the hardened steel and its subsequent conversion to martensite. As a result, a blade heat-treated in this way acquires much better properties than without this technique.

The blades are produced using a CNC milling machine by a slow material removal process. For this knife, very durable and aesthetically valuable rosewood santos wood was used, treated with several layers of linseed oil to prevent water from penetrating the wood. The linseed oil gives the wood its durability and velvety appearance. These are then glued with high quality epoxy to the blade and tightened with the original stainless steel screws through the 5mm diameter centre pin.
