Protective coating against oxidation in the hardening furnace.
Protective coating against oxidation in the hardening furnace.
CONDURSAL1100 protective coating. Protective coating against oxidation. Features. The coating is suitable for common steels, stainless steels, grey cast iron, bronze and for annealing times up to 7 h and sometimes even longer. After heat treatment up to 850 o C, the residues of CONDURSAL Z1100 will evaporate on their own. When higher temperatures are used, the residues can be easily removed by brushing. Sandblasting is not necessary. The surface of the protected parts must be clean, dry, free from oil, grease or corrosion. This can be achieved by thoroughly washing or degreasing in solvents. Often, simply dusting the part and removing any adhering particles is sufficient. CONDURSAL Z1100 must be mixed well before use. The coating is applied with a soft flat brush or better by dipping. Roller and spray application is also possible. A coating layer of 15 um is normally sufficient for full effectiveness. Too thick or uneven a layer causes the coating to chip and its effectiveness is adversely affected. The drying time for one coat of paint is 10 min. Removal. Loaded cans of CONDURSAL Z1100 must be resealed airtight after use. For washing brushes, "CONDURSAL Z1100 thinner" or xylene may be used, but in no case water. Caution. CONDURSAL Z1100 is not suitable for annealing temperatures below 600 o C. At low temperatures, CONDURSAL Z1100 behaves like a baked-on varnish, leaving a black, difficult-to-remove coating on the surface of parts.Material Safety Data Sheet will be sent on request.
