Vacuum hardened ELMAX flat steel tempered to 61 HRC

Steel is vacuum hardened and tempered to a hardness of 61HRC. It can be used immediately for blade production and thus shorten the time of knife production, or catch some "burner"... Using already hardened steel also minimizes the risk of deformation of the finished blade and eliminates the need for straightening.

Elmax is a corrosion resistant steel produced by powder metallurgy by Uddeholm. Thanks to this technology, toughness and strength are increased even at high hardness. This gives the steel excellent cutting properties, high edge durability, strength and good toughness.

The steel is extremely suitable for boning and filleting knives because of its resistance to breakage but bushcraft and hunting knives will again appreciate the high durability and high drawn blade against breakage.

This steel is only suitable for belt grinder owners and cannot be drilled with conventional drills or machined with conventional hand tools! It is very hard! Cutting the blade shape with a flex and producing a complete blade with a "mandrel" design is no problem.
