African Ebony is a hard and heavy black wood with a fine texture. It may have lighter grain and veins in the sapwood. Because it is an exotic tree with exceptional properties, its wood is very rare and expensive in this country. Nevertheless, it is still in demand. The density of ebony is about 1170 g/m3.
