This pattern is suitable for all blade sizes. When ground, the pattern resembles wild damask, with the irregular contours of the individual steel layers.

Stainless damask steel produced using powder metallurgy by the Swedish company Damasteel AB, the price is quoted per 1mm in length. Knives made from this Damascus steel are highly prized for their distinctive appearance and for their superior mechanical strength. This Damascus steel is hardened by cryogenic hardening in a vacuum.  This is a process that utilises very low temperatures, well below freezing point. The resulting hardness after tempering is 63–64 HRC.
