Multi-purpose steel 80CrV2 for the production of tool blades and cutting tools.
Advantages of 80CrV2 steel :
Carbon steel 80CrV2 is a low alloy steel with better flexibility and hardenability than non-alloy carbon steels. Due to its relatively high carbon content, it also achieves good hardness (quench and temper to a hardness of around 60 HRC). It is commonly used in the manufacture of knives exposed to harsh working conditions: hand saws, pruning shears or shears because of its flexibility and ability to withstand impact. Ideal for the manufacture of outdoor and utility carbon knife blades.
Highly regarded in the manufacture of knife blades, it is a grade adapted for the manufacture of outdoor or utility carbon knives. In northern Europe it is quite common for producing Puuko, a well-known type of utility knife, simple and robust.
It is also highly prized by knifemakers in the USA for making larger blades and knives.
80CrV2 steel is hot rolled and is supplied annealed.
Very easy to cut.
