Stainless steel suitable for making blades, for attachments to closing knives or as a stainless steel spring

EN 1.4116 martensitic stainless steel is used for high-end knives, cutlery and surgical instruments. It is resistant to corrosion in kitchen conditions. The chemical composition has been enriched with chromium content, molybdenum and vanadium addition. The surface of the steel is ground, without scale. Quenching temperature is 1030- 1050C in oil, tempering temperature is 100-200C. This steel is usually hardened to 59HRC. Chemical composition of steel: C 0.5% - Si 1% - Mn1% - Mo 0.7% - Cr 14.5% - V 0.2%.
